Munich Mansion stands behind a black and gilded gate in Allach, a residential quarter where the city thins into meadows and water. The house is a broad-gabled Bavarian villa — pale render under deep timber eaves — facing a hedged garden with a swimming pool, and a terrace with an open fire for the evenings.
Inside, a carved wooden staircase links four suites, one to a floor. Suite 1, on the lower level, is a spa room for two with a whirlpool bath. Suite 2, on the ground floor, opens through tall arched windows onto the terrace, with a fireplace and chandeliers. Suite 3, on the first floor, is a two-bedroom apartment with a balcony over the garden; Suite 4, the loft under the roof, is one open, light-filled space. Taken together, they give a larger party the whole house.
The city is close without being present. Nymphenburg's palace and park are a short drive south, the old town a train ride away, and the lakes and the Alps begin an hour beyond. It is Munich with a garden gate to close behind you.
